About this course

Children are handed numbers constantly — in news, in advertising, in school textbooks, in social media — and are almost never taught how to interrogate them. A percentage sounds authoritative. An average hides more than it shows. A truncated axis on a graph can make a flat line look like a crisis.

This course teaches data science from the ground up for Class 6 to 10: what data is, how it is collected and cleaned, how averages and spread actually behave, how to build honest charts, how to read probability, and how to spot the manipulations that get used on adults every day.

By the end, students run a small investigation of their own — ask a question, collect real data, analyse it in a spreadsheet, chart it and present the finding, including the parts that did not support their hypothesis.

What is the fee for Science behind Data?+

The Science behind Data course is ₹15,000 for the full six months, or No-Cost EMI of ₹3,000 × 6 with no interest and no processing charge. That covers all live sessions, recordings for revision, assessments and the project work. There is no registration or material fee.

How much time does this take each week?+

Three live sessions a week over six months, scheduled after school hours or at weekends so it never clashes with school. Every session is recorded, so a missed class can be caught up before the next one.

Is this a maths course?+

No, though it uses school arithmetic. The subject is reasoning about evidence: what a number means, whether it was collected properly, and what it does not tell you.

Which class is it suitable for?+

Class 6 to 10. Younger students manage the collecting, charting and probability units well; the fairness and AI units land better from Class 8 upward.

Does my child need to know programming?+

No. The course is taught in spreadsheets. Children who want to go further can take Coding for Kids afterwards and apply Python to the same ideas.

How does it help with school?+

Directly in mathematics, science practicals and social science projects, all of which involve collecting data, tabulating it and drawing a conclusion.

Is a computer required?+

Yes, for the spreadsheet and charting work. A laptop or desktop is needed.

What is the capstone?+

A small real investigation of the child's own choosing — anything from canteen prices to cricket statistics to sleep and test scores — carried from question to presentation.
